Message from the Director
Balıkesir
University Havran Vocational School is an educational institution that has been
resolutely pursuing its mission of training qualified human resources in
vocational higher education since 1993, creating value on a regional and
national scale with its long history and innovative vision. From its
establishment, it has adopted as its main goal not only to provide technical
knowledge for specific professions, but also to educate individuals who think,
question, produce, possess ethical values, and have a developed sense of social
responsibility. This approach is at the heart of our vocational school's
institutional identity and educational philosophy. Today, higher education
institutions operate in an era where knowledge is rapidly transforming and
professions are being redefined. Digitalization, artificial intelligence,
data-driven management approaches, and global competition are fundamentally
changing the content and methods of vocational education. As Havran Vocational
School, we act with an understanding that not only observes this transformation
but also consciously integrates and directs the education and training
processes. We adopt an educational model that foresees the future, thinks
strategically, and makes innovation a corporate reflex. The Accounting and Tax
Practices Program, Business Administration Program, and Office Management and
Executive Assistant Program, conducted within our college, are structured
taking into account the expectations of the globally transforming business
world. Through these programs, our students not only gain theoretical knowledge
but also acquire 21st-century competencies such as analytical thinking,
problem-solving, digital literacy, communication skills, and teamwork. Our
primary priority is to ensure that our graduates are equipped to gain a
competitive advantage in the changing labor market.
Our
innovative educational approach is based on integrating contemporary teaching
methods, application-based learning approaches, and digital pedagogies into the
educational processes. Our course content includes digital applications,
current software, and industry practices; we encourage our students to be
individuals who not only consume knowledge but also produce it. In this regard,
critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong learning culture have become an
integral part of our educational philosophy.
A
culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement is one of the
fundamental building blocks of our college's strategic management approach. In
this context, the Accounting and Tax Practices Program and the Business
Administration Program have been accredited by the national accreditation body
MEDEK. The accreditation process for the Office Management and Executive
Assistant Program is ongoing. We view accreditation efforts not merely as a
process of obtaining a certificate, but as a strategic tool that encourages
institutional learning, continuously improves the quality of education, and
strengthens accountability.
The
applied education approach is one of Havran Vocational School's strongest
points. Our students have the opportunity to experience their theoretical
knowledge in real work environments through internships, on-the-job training,
practical courses, and project-based studies. Thanks to strong collaborations
established with sector representatives, our students gain professional
awareness before graduation and become better prepared for working life. Our
aim is not only for our graduates to be employable individuals, but also to become
innovative and responsible professionals who add value to the institutions they
work for.
Our
academic and administrative staff are competent in their fields, open to
innovation, and work with a student-centered approach. In addition to
educational activities, scientific research, community contribution projects,
and studies supporting regional development are among the priorities of our
vocational school. This approach, integrated with the socio-economic structure
of Havran and Balıkesir, strengthens university-community interaction and
provides sustainable contributions to local development. Havran Vocational
School, with its campus environment that is close to nature, safe, and
supportive of learning, values the social, cultural, and ethical aspects of
our students as well as their academic development. The cultivation of
well-rounded individuals is encouraged through social responsibility projects,
cultural events, and student clubs. Our vision for the future is to be an
exemplary vocational school that places an innovative educational approach at
the center of its institutional culture, integrates digital transformation with
education, embraces quality as a sustainable value, guides regional
development, and is proud of its graduates.
With
these thoughts in mind, I would like to thank all our academic and
administrative staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders who have contributed
to the development of our vocational school; and I respectfully share with the
public my belief that we will continue to build the future of Balıkesir
University Havran Vocational School together.
